My Favorite Buttercream Frosting
1 cup unsalted butter, softened to room temperature
2 cups powdered sugar
1 T. whipping cream
1 teaspoon vanilla
Add butter to mixing bowl and beat at high speed until it becomes light and fluffy for about 5 minutes.
Gradually add the powdered sugar and mix until incorporated. Add the whipping cream and beat for another 5 minutes. It will get white the longer you beat the icing.
If you are looking for pure white, do not add the vanilla. If you are mixing colors, you can add the vanilla at the end and mix until combined.
This icing will keep in the refrigerator for 3 weeks. Before using, bring to room temperature and mix.
