1/4 cup butter
1/4 cup vermicelli noodles
1 cup rice (Uncle Ben's)
2 cups chicken broth
Salt to taste
On medium heat, add butter to a medium sized saucepan. Once melted add the vermicelli noodles. Let the butter come to a boil and brown the noodles. Be careful not to burn the butter/noodles.
Once noodles are browned, add rice and stir to combine. Let the rice cook for one minute until some of the grains turn solid white and start to brown. Add the chicken broth and bring to a boil. Cover pan with a lid and lower heat to simmer. Let simmer for 10 minutes. Remove lid, give rice a stir.
Put a paper towel over the pan and put the lid back on the pot. This will absorb some of the steam while the rice is resting. Set aside until ready to serve.
