My mom made this sauce when I was a kid and as an adult I still can’t wait to eat the warm sauce over vanilla ice cream. Chopped some peanuts to sprinkle on top. It would be great on chocolate ice cream too.

Decadent apple pie

I got this recipe from an old neighbor, Rosie. She was the best cook I know and was a mentor to me in the kitchen. This cake is just an example of the recipes that she shared with me. The picture does not do this cake justice. One bite and it will become your favorite carrot cake recipe.

You can also dip your favorite French bread in the crème to make French Toast.
